About Us

Lok Kalyan Bhumika Samiti (LKBS) is a grassroots non-profit development organisation registered under the Madhya Pradesh Society Registration Act, 1973. Since 2012, LKBS has focused on uplifting tribal and underserved communities in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Headquartered in Jabalpur, the organisation has impacted over 18,000 households across 500+ villages, working in close partnership with Panchayati Raj Institutions, SHGs, and local governance bodies.

Guided by participatory and rights-based approaches, LKBS implements integrated programs in sustainable livelihoods, women’s empowerment, climate-smart agriculture, water resource management, skill development, and financial inclusion. Its community-based strategies address the unique challenges of tribal, SC/ST, forest-dependent, and other marginalised populations.

Through impactful collaborations with organisations such as SBI Foundation, NABARD, Reliance Foundation, JK Cement, RCCPL, MP Tourism Board, and NULM, LKBS has launched and scaled multiple livelihood and resilience-focused interventions.

Our Vision
To create a society where every person lives with dignity, happiness, and access to basic services, while ensuring that development is sustainable — both ecologically and economically.
Our Mission
To innovate and develop sustainable systems that enable rural and marginalized communities to access education, health, livelihoods, and social protection through inclusive, participatory, and rights-based approaches.
What Sets Us Apart
Emphasizes community-led transformation, where SHGs, PRIs, and local collectives take the lead in planning, implementation, and monitoring.
Uses an Integrated Multi-Thematic Approach, combining sectors like health, agriculture, livelihoods, and nutrition for long-term, layered impact.
Implements a "Hub-and-Spoke" model by training lead women, CRPs, and youth as on-ground mentors and change agents.
Champions digital inclusion through SHG bookkeeping, MIS dashboards, and mobile-based learning to improve financial transparency and access.
Engages communities with Behavior Change Communication (BCC) using visual IEC tools, folk media, and culturally rooted awareness workshops.
Practices an Adaptive Learning Loop, using real-time data, reflection, and feedback to improve and replicate successful initiatives.
